Strawberry smoothie bowl
Smoothie bowls are so tasty, easy and fresh for spring mornings. They are so quick, you can literally throw all the ingredients in the blender before you jump in the shower in the morning and pour it into a take away cup as you run out the door, to have on the bus or in the car on the way. Or take time and decorate it as I have done if you are having a lazy morning or relaxed weekend.
I like to decorate mine with fresh fruit, flax seeds, mint leaves and granola and drizzle with honey. Also adding nuts is a great idea.
Ingredients
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 banana
3/4 cup of low fat natural yogurt
1 tsp honey (optional)
To decorate
fresh fruit
flax seeds or any seeds
nuts
granola
mint leaves
Method
- Throw your frozen fruit, banana and natural yogurt in the blender and blitz. You can add any fruit here, I like strawberries but you can add any mix. Either use a pack of frozen fruit, or freeze your own in freezer bags.
- When blended smooth, pour out into your favourite bowl. Taste it and if it needs a little honey or maple syrup, drizzle some over the top and then garnish with your favourite fresh fruit, granola and seeds. Enjoy !
