French Toast
I love french toast , or pan perdu as its also called. Its so easy to make and such a treat. It can be served with literally anything , maple syrup , fresh berries , blackberry compote.
Ingredients
4 slices of toast or brioche is best if you have it
2 large eggs
80ml of milk
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 tsp cinnamon
To decorate
icing sugar
fresh berries
mayle syrup
Method
- Mix together eggs, mi;k , vanilla and cinnamon. Pour the mixture on a plate or shallow dish.
- Place your brioche or bread slices into the mixture let it soak up the mixture and turn over to coat both sides.
- Meanwhile heat your olive oil in a hot pan. When hot, add in your slices of bread/brioche one at a time or if you can fit two side by side.
- Leave cook for 3 minutes each side, until the bread has turned golden.
- Serve with a dusting of icing sugar and fresh berries and drizzle with maple syrup.
