French Toast


I love french toast , or pan perdu as its also called. Its so easy to make and such a treat. It can be served with literally anything , maple syrup , fresh berries , blackberry compote.

Ingredients
4 slices of toast or brioche is best if you have it
2 large eggs
80ml of milk
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 tsp cinnamon

To decorate
icing sugar
fresh berries
mayle syrup

Method

  1. Mix together eggs, mi;k , vanilla and cinnamon. Pour the mixture on a plate or shallow dish.
  2. Place your brioche or bread slices into the mixture let it soak up the mixture and turn over to coat both sides.
  3. Meanwhile heat your olive oil in a hot pan. When hot, add in your slices of bread/brioche one at a time or if you can fit two side by side.
  4. Leave cook for 3 minutes each side, until the bread has turned golden.
  5. Serve with a dusting of icing sugar and fresh berries and drizzle with maple syrup.
